Two percent that can give hope to children here
We use all funds from the 2% assignment for families of children with disabilities and for the TETIS Specialised Children's Rehabilitation Hospital.
As a non-profit organisation, our civic association Darujme deťom nádej is eligible to receive 2% of income tax. All funds raised this way are used for families of children with disabilities and for the Specialised Children's Rehabilitation Hospital.
Every contribution will be put to good use at the Specialised Children's Rehabilitation Hospital, where there is always room to improve services, renew facilities and medical equipment, and run other projects that make a real difference to the stay of our patients – children, often with very serious congenital diseases and disabilities (in Slovak). This is where we help them and give them hope for a better life with as few health limitations as possible.
Children spend quite a lot of time with us – hospital stays take place in one- and two-week cycles, during which the children stay at the facility together with an accompanying person. Throughout their stay they are under the constant care of a team of nurses, rehabilitation nurses and physiotherapists led by doctors. They also have access to a primary school that is part of the facility and belongs to the special education system. The teachers work closely with the medical staff, and each pupil's workload is agreed with the attending doctor.
Every child in our care is unique and needs their own therapy with an individual approach. To meet these specific needs, with the help of Darujme deťom nádej we have built, for example, an occupational therapy room focused on fine motor skills and a hydrotherapy unit – hydrotherapy is one of the key treatments for the musculoskeletal system.
