About the association
The civic association Darujme deťom nádej was founded in 2002 to support and develop the Children's Rehabilitation Centre in Dunajská Lužná, which in 2003 became the TETIS Specialised Children's Rehabilitation Hospital (TETIS, s.r.o.).
The association's founders and the members of its preparatory committee were doctors from the Children's Rehabilitation Centre.
What we do
Darujme deťom nádej works to develop the Specialised Children's Rehabilitation Hospital (the hospital) and its activities. It helps improve and expand the services the hospital provides for the therapy, treatment and quality of life of children with disabilities.
Another important area is supporting the professional growth of the hospital staff, preparing meetings and professional seminars for members of the association, and working with the local municipality on charitable activities for children with disabilities. When recuperative stays are organised for families of children with disabilities, the association provides professional staff. It organises lectures and prevention programmes to raise health awareness among the public and offers health and social counselling to families of children with disabilities.
The association also provides financial contributions to low-income families towards fees related to the healthcare of a child with a disability and their accompanying person at the hospital. In justified cases, it helps pay for medical aids, devices and equipment that improve the child's quality of life.
For all these activities and for projects for the specialised children's rehabilitation hospital, the association raises funds from donors and sponsors.
