Hydrotherapy unit
The association bought hydromassage baths and so helped set up the hydrotherapy unit, which opened in 2007.
Hydrotherapy is one of the key procedures in treating disorders of the musculoskeletal system. It effectively relaxes increased muscle tension, improves blood flow to the limbs and local metabolism, and at the same time activates skin receptors. Applied to the whole body, it combines the effect of warmth with a gentle massage by swirling water. A great advantage is that child patients tolerate hydrotherapy very well; it gives them a sense of mental well-being and overall harmony.
We set up a hydrotherapy unit in the rehabilitation pavilion of the Specialised Children's Rehabilitation Hospital. Darujme deťom nádej bought a combined hydromassage bath and so helped set up the hydrotherapy unit at the hospital. Construction work on the unit was completed in 2007, when it started operating. At the beginning of 2008, a hydromassage bath for the lower limbs was purchased from the association's funds.
